What is the Leaf? It’s the future of cars. It’s not a marketing gimmick, it’s not fluff, and it’s not fake. It’s the first pure electric car that makes sense, and it’s poised to change the way we travel. Officially, it’s the “Leading, Environmentally Friendly, Affordable, Family Car.”
While there have been pure electric cars before, none have had the impact the Leaf will. Being able to purchase or lease, charge at home or on the go, the Leaf offers something that hasn’t been offered before: flexibility. It’s not a cramped sports car derivative, it’s not only available to drive as a lease, and it’s not more of the same when it comes to hybrids.
Enough of what it isn’t, here is what it is: A pure electric car that can be daily driven for years. Charge on the go quickly, or overnight at your house during off-peak hours, all while being able to seat 5 people. Worried about where to charge it? The onboard navigation can both show you where local charging stations are, and allow you to control the charging schedule from your smart phone. You can even remotely tell your Leaf to turn the air conditioning or heater on from your smart phone so it’s comfortable by time you step inside to commute home.
Available in December of 2010 in select markets like Seattle, the Bay Area and Southern California, we can’t wait to get our hands on one.
